Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a tumorlike growth of the oral mucosa or skin that is considered to be an exaggerated conditioned response to minor trauma. It usually is painless, bleeds easily, and is considered to be nonneoplastic in nature. Pyogenic granuloma predominantly occurs in the second decade of life, mostly among young adult females.

Psoriasis Atherosclerosis

It is widely accepted that atherosclerosis is caused by chronic low-grade inflammation that results from an interaction between immune mechanisms and metabolic abnormalities within the vessel wall. Population-based studies have found an increased cardiovascular risk in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). This risk is higher in patients with severe disease phenotypes, such as those with severe psoriasis and with musculoskeletal inflammation.

disorder characterized by progressive development of a fibrotic band on a finger or toe until spontaneous auto amputation occurs. Ainhum is an idiopathicdisease involving the fifth toes of black people mainly intropical zones.

Annular Erythematous Lesions

Although most annular lesions will be typical of a dermatophytosis, physicians must consider other possible diagnoses. Tinea corporis can often be diagnosed on the basis of a positive potassium hydroxide examination. Topical and systemic antifungals are usually curative. Pityriasis rosea is characterized by small, fawn-colored lesions distributed along skin cleavage lines. Treatment is symptomatic.

Pretibial Region

Graves’ disease which consists of goiter with excessive discharge of thyroid hormones also has important extra thyroid manifestation. Thyroid dermopathy (pretibial myxedema) is an autoimmune phenomenon of Graves’ disease. In fact the extrathyroidal manifestations of this form of thyrotoxicosis are due to immunologically mediated activation of fibroblasts in the extraocular muscles and the skin, with accumulation of glycosaminoglycans, leading to trapping of water and edema.
